CAMP DIVERSITY
Unity In Diversity: A Multicultural Conversation

August 9-11, 2008

Reinventing the traditional professional business conference, CAMP DIVERSITY brings together professionals from different cultural background in a relaxed setting for a weekend of professional development, wellness, teambuilding and partnering.

GROW YOUR ORGANIZATION THRU STRATEGIC ALLIANCES & TEAMING PARTNERSHIPS

For generations, companies built moats to separate themselves from their competitors. Today the most successful organizations build bridges.

Meaningful partnerships are the foundation for success, especially for minority organizations. By sharing, we gain MORE. By enlarging the pie, there will be more to go around.

LET US DISCOVER OUR SYNERGIES AND HARNESS OUR DIVERSITY

Focus your resources on what you do best and what creates sustainable competitive advantage and tap to the resources of others for the rest. In this camp conference, we are inviting all minority organizations to discover their synergies and harness their diversity, band together, share resources, conduct joint programs, do joint marketing and promotions, co-locate meetings to better negotiate rates and others. It makes sense, in fact it is good business, to never walk alone.

Strategic alliances enable organizations to gain competitive advantage through access to a partner's resources, including markets, technologies, human and financial resources. The afternoon activities are devoted to teambuilding, partnering, networking in addition to recreational activities.

CHILDREN'S CAMP: The conference runs concurrently with a camp for children from different cultures where they can begin to learn understanding, tolerance and multicultural friendships. Sponsors are invited to send children who cannot afford even the very low cost to this extraordinary opportunity to promote tolerance and understanding and help bring peace to the world.

MESSAGE FOR MINORITY PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS: This camp is hosted by Connected International meeting Professionals Association (CIMPA), International Association of Hispanic Meeting Professionals (IAHMP ), Asian Leaders Association (ALA), Africa Travel Association (ATA) and American Islamic Congress (AIC). Please join us. We want to learn about you and discover how we can work together.

At this camp, we will formally launch the Federation of Minority Organizations, an international network of associations serving the minority market. You are invited.

Members of host and partner organizations get a discount on camp registration fees.

Directions to the Camp
Trip to Busch Gardens or King's Dominion - The camp ends with a BANG at a Theme Park of your choice.
WANTED: Sponsors - We need a few generous people/companies/organizations to send as many disadvantaged children from minority families as possible to camp.

BEFORE OR AFTER THE CAMP - We suggest planning your family's summer vacation around the camp. The site is just a short drive to Williamsburg, Jamestown, Potomac Mills and the nation's capital, Washington DC.

Williamsburg -  For 81 formative years, from 1699 to 1780, Williamsburg was the political, cultural, and educational center of Virginia, which was then the largest, most populous, and most influential of the American colonies. Step back in time to experience the ideas and dreams of both great and everyday people on the eve of the American Revolution. See how people dressed and lived and hear how they spoke 200 years ago. Make history come alive for your child.
American History classes will never again be boring.

Jamestown - The Far East has its Mecca, Palestine its Jersualem, France its Lourdes, and Italy its Loretto, but America's only shrines are her altars of patriotism - the first and most potent being Jamestown. Jamestown is the site of the first permanent English colony in America. On May 13, 1607, one hundred seven Englishmen arrived in three small ships and moored them to the trees on this island. A "must" educational trip for every school child in America.

Shopping at Potomac Mills Factory Outlets - A bargain-hunter's dream at 60-70% off retail prices. Features hundreds of the best names in retail offering the latest fashions, gifts, electronics, or dining options at outlet prices. Just in time for Back-To-School shopping.

Washington DC - The nation's capital attracts almost twenty million visitors each year. The nation's showcase puts on quite a display for its guests, and admission to virtually all major attractions is free. The most famous sites are concentrated along the Mall, including the White House, individual memorials to four of the greatest Presidents, Vietnam and World War II memorials and the outstanding museums of the Smithsonian Institution. See how the dollar is made at the Department of Treasury, learn how Congress works at the US Capitol, get a thrill at the Spy Museum and dozens of other attractions.
