KNOWLEDGE CAFE
One way of energizing organizations is to use a Knowledge Cafe. A Knowledge Cafe is an effective vehicle for opening up conversations and discussions which will lead to knowledge sharing. In this first round of our Knowledge Cafe, we will ask destination management experts (Ok - you might call them CVB or Tourism Board managers but they are supposed to be experts in their destinations, aren't they?) to share their knowledge about their destinations. Minority organizations meet and eat a lot. But they do these in the same places where they have a "friend contact". To attract more attendees and make the programs more exciting, they can use some knowledge sharing on various destinations. Here is how the Knowledge Cafe will work: 1. Tables will be set up at the knowledge cafe containing literature and display from each destination for 2 days. Attendees can browse around at their leisure. Coffee will be available. 2. On Saturday, 3:00 - 4:00 PM, chairs will be set up around each table so that destination experts can hand out relevant information and perhaps typical destination giveaways, as well as talk to attendees in more detail about their destinations for 15 minutes. Every 15 minutes, attendees will switch tables. Coffee will be served. FEES: None. There are no extra fees to participate in the Knowledge Cafe. All registered participants can participate.
