Subject: Camp Diversity

Hello Everyone,

Spring has arrived in Washington DC. But what we are very excited about is
our summer camp. It is getting a lot of support from minority organizations
and you are invited to be a part of it. Here's the info:

CAMP DIVERSITY
Unity In Diversity: A Multicultural Conversation

Reinventing the traditional professional business conference, CAMP
DIVERSITY brings together professionals from different cultural backgrounds
in a natural and peaceful setting for a refreshing and inspiring weekend of
professional development, wellness, teambuilding and partnering.

GROW YOUR ORGANIZATION THRU STRATEGIC ALLIANCES & TEAMING PARTNERSHIPS

Are you tired of being "second class citizens" in large mega associations?
Do you see too few of people who look like you in mega conferences? Do you
feel discrimination is alive and well in this society, even as they have
become more subtle? Do you have difficulty negotiating favorable terms and
conditions with hotels, airlines, rental cars and other suppliers because
your organization is colored and small?

It is time to partner with other smaller organizations - groups organized
by minorities for minorities. Meaningful partnerships are the foundation
for success, especially for minority organizations. By sharing, we gain
MORE. By enlarging the pie, there will be more to go around.

This camp is hosted by CIMPA, IAHMP and ALA. We want to include all
minority organizations as partners. At this camp, we will formally launch
the Federation of Minority Organizations, an international network of
associations serving the minority market. You are invited. (Members of host
and partner organizations get a discount on camp registration fees).

For generations, companies built moats to separate themselves from their
competitors. Today the most successful organizations build bridges.

LET US DISCOVER OUR SYNERGIES AND HARNESS OUR DIVERSITY

Focus your resources on what you do best and what creates sustainable
competitive advantage and tap to the resources of others for the rest. In
this camp conference, we are inviting all minority organizations to
discover their synergies and harness their diversity, band together, share
resources, conduct joint programs, do joint marketing and promotions, co-
locate meetings to better negotiate rates and others. Strategic alliances
enable organizations to gain competitive advantage through access to a
partner's resources, including markets, technologies, human and financial
resources.

CHILDREN'S CAMP: The conference runs concurrently with a camp for children
from different cultures where they can begin to learn understanding,
tolerance and multicultural friendships. This is our mission.

For most of us, it is not a problem to hop in our cars with our children
for a weekend of fun. But there are families for whom this is an
impossibility. We will not be able to change their lives in one weekend but
we can give them a memorable experience that will help give them a little
self-confidence, boost their self-esteem and perhaps change some attitudes.
For the children of attendees, it may not be a bad thing for them to
realize how lucky they are - and at the same time, learn tolerance,
understanding, peace and sharing.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE CONFERENCE: Officers and members of minority
organizations; Professionals in the association, travel, meetings, event,
hospitality industry as well as those who are looking into changing careers
to get into the exciting world of travel and meetings; Representatives from
multicultural committees of hotels, airlines, convention and visitor
bureaus, the press and others who are interested in the minority market.

Families are welcome. We want you to enjoy a weekend of education and fun
with your significant other, your children and grandchildren. Most
recreational activities are free.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE CHILDREN'S CAMP: Children and grandchildren of
conference attendees and their guests, children from disadvantaged minority
families.

WHEN: Saturday, August 12 to Monday, August 14, 2006. We start with an
inspiring luncheon keynote on Aug 12 and end with a BANG at Busch Gardens
on Aug 14.

WHERE: Imagine a wooded sanctuary overlooking a pristine beach on the broad
serene James River - over 125 acres of woodlands, breezes and birdsong. The
unexpected pleasure of a ferry ride across the James to historic
Williamsburg and Jamestown. A day at the amazing Busch Gardens - every
child's (young and old) fun paradise.

We will be accommodated in comfortable lodges. Participants will enjoy the
large dining hall where all-you-can-eat buffet style meals are served,
Networking Club, the pool, the waterfront activities (sailing, canoeing,
paddle boating, power boating, water skiing and tubing, etc.), hiking,
volleyball, soccer, Climbing Wall, Zip Line, Team Building on the Challenge
Course.

We wrap up each day with a campfire under the starlit summer night sky.

BEFORE OR AFTER THE CAMP - We suggest planning your family's summer
vacation around the camp. The site is just a short drive to Williamsburg,
Jamestown, Potomac Mills and the nation's capital, Washington DC.

WHAT ARE WE MEETING ABOUT?

This camp conference will focus mainly on strategic partnerships - getting
to know officers and members of other minority organizations, exploring
ways to pursue common goals, share resources, do joint marketing and
promotions, support each others' events and meetings, maybe co-locating
them to better negotiate rates and other issues of interest to minority
organizations. There will be fun teambuilding activities in a beautiful and
relaxing setting on the water. Come and start a working relationship with
other minority leaders.

ATTENTION: SPEAKERS. Consider this a call for presentation on the following
topics and others which you think will be useful. Suggestions are welcome.

SPONSORS: WE NEED YOU!

We have no Gold, Silver or Bronze sponsorships. Instead, we want to give
you ownership of CAMP DIVERSITY for a weekend. We want to put your name in
the camp and give you maximum exposure in the publications and memberships
of host and partner organizations. www.cimpa.org/campsponsors.htm

Even if the actual event is just for a weekend in August, the images will
remain on websites of host and partner organizations for months before and
after the campers go home with wonderful pictures (with your name on the
background, of course) and fabulous memories (of which you are a part) they
will share with friends, family and co-workers.

Your sponsorship will not only help your marketing efforts in a major way
but will help make the dreams of disadvantaged children from minority
families come true.

SPONSOR NOW, PAY LATER: If you want to be a sponsor but do not have the
item in your budget this year - not to worry. We will take a pledge. We
trust our friends.

Please contact me by hitting reply. I am happy to discuss your sponsorship
objectives and tailor a program to your needs. Or go to
www.cimpa.org/campsponsors.htm

We look forward to seeing you at the conference. Your low registration fee
of $350 includes 2 nights lodging in a double occupancy room, all meals,
snacks and continuous coffee, all seminars, teambuilding activities and
recreational activities. Best of all, it includes a contribution towards
the registration of a disadvantaged child who would otherwise not be able
to attend camp. Consider this your Easter good deed.

Happy Easter to all!

As always, my best to you.

Andrea Sigler, PhD
and the CIMPA / ALA / IAHMP Team
