LETTER TO FRIENDS RE ATHENA AWARDS PROGRAM

I am writing to ask for your help in getting the word out and soliciting nominations for the ATHENA AWARDS to be held at the magnificent Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece on November 6, 2005. This will be followed by a cruise conference on November 7-11. The cruise will visit Mykonos, Santorini, Patmos, Rhodes, Crete and Kusadasi (Turkey).

The ATHENA Awards honor women who contribute in significant ways to the achievements of other women. It is recognized internationally as the premier honor bestowed upon its recipient by business, professional and community leaders.

All nominations must be received by September 15. Awardees will be announced on September 19 and must be present at the Awards Ceremony in Athens.

ATHENA recipients must meet each of three specific criteria:
1. Demonstrated excellence, creativity and initiative in her business or profession.
2. Devoted time and energy to improving the quality of life for others in the community.
3. Dedicated to assisting other women reach their full leadership potential.
 

In the nomination, please state the nominee's business or professional accomplishments, special recognitions or projects within her firm or organization that have furthered her career. Include business affiliations, mentorship roles, professional memberships and others. Specify active community involvement in civic and service organizations, non-profit boards, political pursuits, religious or educational groups and others.

Give specific examples of activities demonstrating nominee's support and encouragement of women in business above and beyond her day-to-day requirements. Include programs initiated, seminars presented, books written, etc.

Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2005 preferably by email.

COST:
In order to make this affordable, I have asked the sponsors to waive registration fees for nominees and charge us only the exact cost of the trip. That is US $550 for the Olympic Stadium event, 4-night cruise to Mykonos, Santorini, Patmos, Rhodes, Crete and Kusadasi including all seminars, materials, meals, events, conversations, consultations and accommodations on double occupancy. (Port fees not included).
