December 2005
Hello, Everyone!
I will start this newsletter with a Christmas wish for someone very special
- YOU!
Today...I wish you a day of ordinary miracles-
A fresh pot of coffee you didn't have to make yourself.
An unexpected email from an old friend.
Green stoplights on your way to work
I wish you a day of little things to rejoice in...
The fastest line and lowest price at the gas station
A virus-free computer
And just a few, easy to manage spam in your emailbox
I wish you a day of happiness and joy - little bite-size pieces of
perfection that give you the funny feeling that the Lord is smiling on you
- holding you ever so gently because you are someone special.
I wish You a day of Peace, Happiness and Joy.
And I thank all those who participated and sponsored the joint meeting of
CIMPA and Asian Leaders Association in Greece last month. Somehow, we
managed to put together some of the nicest people on earth on that cruise
conference. People actually connected and are still communicating with each
other.
Of course, the setting was fascinating and the experiences memorable. It
was a heady feeling to walk on stones that may have been trod upon by
Plato, Homer, Agamemnon, St. John, the Virgin Mary and discover what may
have been the lost city of Atlantis. The Opening Awards Ceremony at the
Olympic Stadium where world champions are recognized was a night to
remember. Our outstanding awardees deserved nothing less. Photos are
available at www.cimpa.org
So - you asked - "When are we doing it again?" Well, we have the dates:
November 2-4, 2006. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR!. We are, however, having a
difficult time selecting among 3 equally wonderful venues - Czech Republic,
Scandinavia and Spain. Will you help us? Please vote at www.cimpa.org

Just some quick notes on these destinations:
CZECH REPUBLIC - A fairytale land rushing headlong to modernity. Prague is
a very beautiful city. With some six hundred years of architecture
virtually untouched by natural disaster or war, few other cities, anywhere
in Europe, look as gorgeous. Straddling the winding River Vltava, with a
steep wooded hill to one side, the city retains much of its medieval layout
and the street facades remain smothered in a rich mantle of Baroque, Rococo
and Art Nouveau, all of which successfully escaped the vanities and
excesses of postwar redevelopment.
A meeting in Prague will include pre and post conferece tours to Poland,
Slovenia and Spain.
The currency in the Czech Republic is still the Czeck Koruna. 1 US dollar
is equal to about 25 Czeck Koruna so shopping there is still good.
SPAIN - Ah, Spain! The Spanish passion for living is deliciously
contagious. More than 50 million tourists visit Spain each year, making it
the second most visited country in the world. To travel to Spain is to
experience sun, superb food, hospitality and joie de vivre, and yet it is
also to discover the country's rich heritage of monuments and sights, the
imprint of different civilizations that once made it their home. To travel
to Spain is to journey through its singular and breathtaking countryside,
to delight in the stunning scenery, to study the customs of its people and
towns, and to share in the local fiestas and traditions.
The awesome bloom of Roman and Gothic art, followed by the finest examples
of Baroque and Neoclassical architecture, are just some examples of the
diversity that can be found in Spain. Not surprisingly, 30 Spanish sites
are considered World Heritage sites by UNESCO. We plan to visit these
during the pre and post conference tours.
SCANDINAVIA - From wild and woolly to sleek and civilized. We are
specifically looking at Denmark. The smallest and most southern of the
Scandinavian countries, Denmark offers an interesting mix of lively cities
and rural countryside. Ancient castles, ring forts, jazz festivals, the
sleekest modern design you'll ever see and the people who invented Lego -
who could ask for more?
Danish Vikings once took to the seas and ravaged half of Europe, but these
days they've filed down their horns and forged a society that stands as a
benchmark of civilization, with progressive policies, widespread tolerance
and a liberal social-welfare system.
A meeting in beautiful Copenhagen will include pre and post conference
tours to Sweden and Iceland

America.
